The Glengower Hotel
4 Victoria Terrace - (01970) 626191
No longer opening as a club in the evenings, the Glen's changed back to a normal daytime pub. The former dancefloors have been converted into bright, spacious seating areas good for a quiet drink or game of pool.
The one real strength of this place is that its beer terrace the only place you can legally drink outside on the seafront.

- "I really enjoyed my stay here and the staff were very welcoming. I come here every summer and will be continuing to do so. The menu is the best improvement, the food selection is great, and we were very impressed." - Sandra [Jul 2007]
- "I stumbled across this place on a visit to Aber and am glad I did! Great drinks, great whisky selection, great food, friendly bar staff. Having looked at it since on the internet however I can see that the website is in serious need of updating! But overall a lovely seaside pub." - Chris Ward [Aug 2007]
- "In my opinion the best pub in town: great food, great selection of drinks (only place I know in Aber to sell San Miguel) and really friendly staff. On a sunny day it's hard to think of a better place I've ever been to. Much better than the dive it once was!" - Frazer Temperley [Jul 2007]
- "Absolutely superb pool tables, that are often free. However it's expensive, cold (even when it's warmish outside!) and lacks atmosphere. All right for pool but not a place to have a proper session in, could be a lot better." - Danny [May 2007]
- "It's been a while since I've visited and I've been massively impressed with the changes there! Different opening hours, a big focus on fresh and homemade food, VERY impressive selection of whisky and cask ale! A different venue altogether, I will definitely be recommending it." - Mark Howes [Apr 2007]
- "The Glen was a legendary place but sadly is no more. Was always the place to go on a monday night! It's now a run-of-the-mill done up pub which is a long walk along the front and now offers as little of its character as possible. Bring it back alive someone please!" - John [Jan 2007]
- "Can't believe what's happened to The Glen. In my student years of 1992-95, the place was like Studio 54, Sodom, Gomorrah, Stringfellows and Spearmint Rhino all rolled into one." - Andrew [Oct 2006]
- "It's a nice place to sit out front on a hot sunny day. Drinks OK; huge selection of whiskies; and they have La Joya Merlot from Chile for around a tenner, which ain't bad." - Dean & Pai, Aberystwyth [May 2006]
- "Was the best and only place to go on Monday nights, but not any more. That end of the seafront is now deserted, since the 11pm close. Great loss." - Matt [Oct 2005]
- "The only place to be when a big rugby or football match is on the big screens. Meet the local drunks in a non-threatening environment." - Fat Bob [Jan 2005]
